Professor Layton and the Curious Village | DS

Bit early with the game of the moment for September but I couldn’t help it Professor Layton and the Curious Village is just a great Nintendo DS game (albeit I’m not sure it has been release in the UK yet). I have been a lover of puzzles for a long time, ever since I can remember, there is something quite satisfying in solving mysteries and puzzles - and this games is full of that all mixed in to a charming colourful story.
The story, itself, is a simple one - Professor Layton is sent to investigate the village of St. Mystere, whose offbeat residents take delight in baffling visitors with riddles, sliding puzzles, optical illusions, spatial reasoning, mazes, and tests of logic. Players can interact with a number of characters, explore various areas around the village, and learn more of the story through hand-drawn animated cut-scenes.
By solving each puzzle, players will move closer to discovering the whereabouts of an affluent baron’s prized treasure. In addition to touch-screen controls, The Curious Village on DS supports download-able content via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection - which I haven’t explored yet but this is a great addition.
If you want to read more check out the compreshensive wiki and the official site which has a web demo.
There are 3 titles in total for the Professor Layton series the next two are: Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box & Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel
Screen grabs of the Professor Layton puzzles
There are 135 puzzles in total not including the download-able content.
Imagine a digital clock like the one shown below. How many times will the clock display three or more of the same number in a row over the course of one day? In case you were wondering, the clock, in this puzzle display time on a 12-hour scale, not on military time.
I slipped up and I counted 05:00 as one with 3 zeros - oops.
