[...] I’m sure that without argument I can say that most fan art doesn’t hold up to the standards of the original. But in this case, our European friend Simon Page has done an amazing job. He’s not only generated fantastic 2D art, but also custom built his own 3D lightcycle based on TRON: LEGACY and created amazingly detailed renderings. For more pics go to simoncpage.co.uk.
This is a great example of a distinctive typography becoming as or more recognizable than the word it depicts. I especially like the glowing quality of the rope style circles and the glassy land in your posters. Very sexy. And nice job keeping with the original look of the Tron movie. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic post; best posters I've seen so far. I like how you compare the old logo as well as show where you pulled various elements from the teaser.

Cheers.

@Tylor

Thanks - I take it you are talking about the electronic sky? That was created using cloud render, gradients and warping on a large number of small circles. If you look in the movie they use much more distortion being that it is just on screen for a second but this amount of warping wouldn't suit a still image.

This is really nice Simon. I found this through Flickr. I'm curious how you got that shape and texture inside of the circle/disc.
